Fishing Report 5/20/13

Fishing remains fantastic, with several methods working. More and more fish are

begining to surface, especailly early in the morning. Top water lures and sassy

shad will both work for these shallow fish, but most days Robert and I are getting

the bigger ones as well as big numbers on live bait fished in shallow water, most

under 25 feet deep, with some in the two to three foot range.

On Monday, May 20th, Dennis Shell and three of his friends caught a limit fishing

in the shallows, including several over 20 inches. Robert and I threw back several

big fish after we reached the fourty fish limit. On Monday we had our limit by 9:30

and you can see the pictures just posted to our gallery. We did a lot of catch and

release for the rest of the trip.

Fred Kindel and friends caught several big fish Sunday the 19th before the wind

became to much to deal with for the group of six.

On Saturday the 18th Tim Cline and friends had a limit before 9:30 as well,

and released several over 20 inches after we reached the limit.

While many of the stripers have spawned, there are still many full of eggs. This

should keep the same patterns working for at least the next few weeks. By mid

June it will more than likely be more of a top water and/or slab bite. Stay tuned.

Thanks for all of our customers and we hope to see you soon.
