April 26 Fishing Report

Fishing for March and April have been fantastic! Most days we have limited

before 11:00, and did catch and release from then on. The average size this spring

has been nothing short of incredible. Many days we caught so many over 20″ that

we had to throw back several. On April 6th we fished Scott Naylor and two friends

and caught 37 stripers over 20″, including several over 30″.  On March 13, Cecil

Black’s 10 year old grandaughter caught a 35 1/2″ striper, just one of several Cecil

and his two grand children caught.

So far, all trips have been live bait trips, and live bait should continue to be the

best choice for at least another month. We will be using top waters some mornings

before switching to bait, as a lot of bigger fish are beginning to surface as the shad

begin there spawn.

We are booking quite a bit in advance this season, especially weekends, so if you

want to book a trip let us know what dates you prefer as soon as possible.

Robert or I will update this fishing report if there are any significant changes, but

for now it appears the fish will be biting and catching limits will be the norm.
